The Bower family have been farming at Stanley Vale since 1840. Today the father and son team of Tim and Dominic along with a trusty team of loyal staff continue to build Stanley Vale’s reputation as a supplier of rams who produce fleeces for the Superfine market.

The Property.

Stanley Vale Merino Stud has been farmed since the Bower's first arrived in New England in the 1840's. The high altitude, high rainfall and good pasture and grazing country has meant that the New England region has a long standing reputation of produced superior wool types for the global markets unrivalled.

The process.

Sheep farming has changed a lot over the years. Producing the right animal for the market cannot be left to chance. Best practice management and use of superior genetics is paramount in continuing to produce elite Merino sires. The Bower family have moved with the times and use high-end technologies to track the genetic strains in their sheep and management of the environment.

The product.

At the heart of what we do is breed the best Merino sheep possible with high fleece weights and a consistent quality superfine wool type! This is achieved through careful management and husbandry plus specific attention to the individual information we record on all our animals.
